Welcome to the Washington University Child Care Center & Office in St. Louis, where kids thrive and parents drive innovation!
I’m proud to announce that this space is officially OPEN and ready to serve the BJC Healthcare and Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) community. Our Clayco and Lamar Johnson Collaborative teams undertook a 36,000-square-foot renovation to create a vibrant environment where families and caregivers can connect. This project demonstrates a genuine commitment to helping children grow and making staff feel comfortable by blending safety rules with smart, welcoming design that supports learning and community.
In addition to the state-of-the-art interior renovations, the outdoor spaces have been thoughtfully reimagined, including a new playground designed to spark creativity and fun! With sensory elements, age-appropriate equipment, shaded areas, soft turf, and native plants, the space seamlessly connects indoor learning with outdoor exploration. Additions like these are great examples of how our teams build Beyond These Walls to serve the neighborhoods where we live and work.
The center will play a crucial role in aiding the families of those who tirelessly advance medical research and patient care by providing high-quality childcare facilities. It will enable these dedicated professionals to focus on their impactful work, knowing their children are in a safe and nurturing environment. This project is also a testament to the strength of Clayco’s ongoing collaboration with WUSM. We love working with this institution and contributing to transformative projects across its medical campus.
