A Direct Connection and a Clear Signal

I just stepped off the inaugural British Airways nonstop flight from St. Louis to London, and it is hard not to recognize what a meaningful moment this is for our region. For years, conversations about growth, investment, and global relevance have pointed to one simple need. Connectivity matters. Today, that idea became tangible.

A direct route to London does more than shorten travel time. It sends a message. It tells businesses, investors, and partners around the world that St. Louis is open, accessible, and ready to compete on a larger stage. When a global carrier like British Airways makes the decision to invest in a market, it reflects confidence. It confirms what many of us have believed for a long time. This is a region with momentum and opportunity.

Being here with a strong delegation from St. Louis only reinforces that point. The relationships we build this week, the conversations we have, and the impressions we leave will carry forward long after we return home. Economic development is not a single event. It is a series of connections, each one building on the last.

Moments like this do not happen in isolation. They are the result of sustained effort from leaders across business, government, and the community who understand that progress requires persistence. This flight is one visible outcome of that work, but it is also a starting point.

Make a reservation soon and connect to Europe!
