Elizebeth Smith Friedman: The Woman Who Smashed Codes by Jason Fagone

This is an extraordinary story about a woman who helped change the course of history without receiving nearly the recognition she deserved. Elizebeth Friedman was a brilliant codebreaker who helped fight organized crime and uncover Nazi espionage networks.

Elizebeth didn’t need the spotlight to make an enormous difference. She was curious, relentless, and willing to solve problems that others couldn’t. I admire her determination and the fact that her work mattered far more than the credit she received.
