Keeping the Spark Alive Through Art

Art has a way of meeting people exactly where they are and then taking them somewhere new. You can see it happen in real time. A moment of curiosity turns into discovery. A young artist begins to understand what is possible. A visitor encounters a work that changes how they see the world. Those moments stay with you. They are the spark that keeps creativity moving forward.

Jane and I have long believed in the power of art not just to inspire, but to expand access, deepen understanding, and create opportunity. That is why were are honored to chair the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis gala last night.

The CAM plays a vital role in our region. It brings forward the most relevant work of our time and makes it accessible to everyone, free of charge. It invests in young people, helping them find their voice and confidence through art. And it creates a place where ideas, perspectives, and communities come together. It is a place where that initial spark is nurtured into something lasting.

Last night was a celebration of that energy and a commitment to sustaining it for the future. Art has the power to open doors. Let us keep that spark alive. A special thanks to my family, friends and the CAM for a wonderful night.
