What a whirlwind! The Job is The Boss 2020 Tour got off to a great start this week with visits to 10 different amazing job sites. It is so invigorating to finally get to meet with my teams in person instead of these ZOOM calls. Nothing replaces face to face.
We started the week at Penn State for our East Halls and West Campus Garage projects, Project Sophia for Amazon in Delaware, and the Rockwool manufacturing plant in West Virginia.
Then we headed to Hagerstown, Maryland to break ground at the Hagerstown Logistics Facility project and then flew to Charlotte, North Carolina to visit the Centene East Headquarters project team.
Thursday was the craziest day of the week! We woke up in Huntsville, Alabama and visited the Blue Origin MSFC Engine Test Stand, then flew to Chattanooga, Tennessee to see the Volkswagen Battery Plant. After lunch we continued the Tennessee portion of the tour, starting with the Associates Wholesale Grocers project in Goodlettsville followed by the large concrete project we are doing for Layton Construction in Mt. Juliet.
Overall, this week I am most grateful for getting to see the teams in action. They are working in some of the most difficult circumstances on the most complicated jobs in America. I’m also thankful for the safety teams and nurses on all of Clayco’s sites that are working to ensure the safety of our teams. The importance of the work the men and women of Clayco do to keep things progressing cannot be overstated!
