Washington University School of Medicine’s Ambulatory Cancer Care Center

We’re excited that after two years of planning, construction will finally begin on Washington University School of Medicine’s new Ambulatory Care Center. It’s going to consolidate nearly all outpatient cancer treatment in one building, which will allow patients to get more comprehensive care at a single location as opposed to visiting multiple locations in the current medical complex.

As anyone who has experienced a serious illness like cancer knows, it’s so important for doctors and medical providers to do as much as possible to make the treatment process streamlined and comfortable for patients. The Ambulatory Care Center will help fulfill this promise and obligation. It’s a huge step forward in making cancer care a better experience for those who are undergoing treatment as well as their families who are there to support them.

Once completed, the state-of-the-art, 650,000 square foot facility will include 96 exam rooms, 88 infusion pods for chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and dedicated radiology, breast imaging, and hematology and chemistry laboratory space. Washington University School of Medicine’s Siteman Cancer Center continues to be a sought-after facility for cancer treatment, serving patients from across the country. The opening of the Ambulatory Care Center will continue to build on this great legacy.

Clayco is honored to be a part of this next chapter in its growth. It’s really in line with the ‘Beyond our Walls’ mantra that defines our company, and I think it’s a great way for us to make an impact on the lives of many people who are facing significant health challenges. We always want our buildings to make a difference, and it’s projects like these that remind me how important it is to play our part in supporting our communities.
