Welcome Home, Boeing!

WELCOME HOME BOEING! Boeing is bringing its Defense, Space & Security headquarters back to St. Louis, and that is a powerful statement about where this company sees its future.

I grew up in Bridgeton, MO, and started Clayco right here in St. Louis. I’ve spent decades building a company in this region and watching our city grow into one of the most important manufacturing and innovation hubs in the country. I’ve always believed in what St. Louis is capable of, and moments like this prove it.

More than 18,000 Boeing employees already call this region home. They’re designing advanced fighter aircrafts, developing next-generation defense systems and munitions, advancing innovation through Phantom Works prototyping labs, and sustaining military missions around the world. The talent has always been here. The capability has always been here. Now the leadership will be here too.

When a headquarters sits in the same city as its workforce, the impact goes far beyond business operations. Decisions get made closer to the people doing the work. Executives become part of the civic fabric. They show up differently by engaging, hiring, investing, and giving back locally. The ripple effects strengthen schools and universities, support small businesses, energize neighborhoods, and deepen partnerships with nonprofits and community organizations.

For St. Louis, this is more than a relocation. It reinforces our position as a national center for big business. It sends a clear signal that this region is built to compete and built to lead.

I’ve always believed St. Louis has everything it needs to be one of the great American cities. Today is one of those moments that reminds us why.
