Creating a Future Ready Campus at St. Louis Community College

Building spaces for continued education is one of the most important investments a community can make.

At St. Louis Community College’s Meramec campus, that investment is taking shape through the development of two new facilities designed to support both students and the evolving workforce across our region.

St. Louis Community College envisioned modernizing the Meramec campus to better serve students while aligning its programs with the changing demands of today’s economy. In partnership with Arcturis and S. M. Wilson & Co., our Clayco team has been working to bring that vision to life through the construction of the Emerging Technology Center and the Financial Services Education Center.

I actually took night classes at St. Louis Community College back in the 70’s to hone my design skills, so it’s really cool to now be working on such an impactful project on this campus.

These buildings are designed to provide dedicated spaces that make it easier for students to access critical support services while also creating environments where new ideas and new skills can develop. Programs focused on areas such as computer information technology, cannabis and hemp production, accounting, and entrepreneurship will give students the opportunity to build skills that are increasingly important in today’s workforce.

St. Louis Community College is the largest community college system in Missouri, serving more than 15,000 students across its four campuses: Florissant Valley, Forest Park, Meramec, and Wildwood. Institutions like STLCC play a vital role in expanding access to education while helping develop the skilled workforce that strengthens our communities.

With construction nearing completion, the Meramec campus is taking an important step forward in creating a modern, future-ready environment for students and educators alike. Projects like this remind us that the spaces we build today can create opportunities for generations to come.
